survey says: email marketing outperforms other marketing campaigns

Once again, email marketing is being touted as a powerful tool in marketing campaigns. Datran Media just released their annual online marketing and media survey results. The 2000+ survey responses indicate that 82% of the online marketing professionals surveyed will increase email marketing efforts in 2008. Surveys were returned from almost 100 companies, including Avenue A/Razorfish and Stamps.com. Some more on email marketing campaigns from the Datran Media survey:

  • 55% of survey respondents stated that they anticipate email marketing ROIs to be higher than other marketing campaign channels.
  • 80% of companies surveyed said email marketing was outperforming other avenues, including search.
  • More than 2/3 of survey respondents said that email marketing has boosted sales across company channels.
  • More than 80 percent of companies surveyed indicated that they send targeted email marketing messages to prospects and customers.
